Yay! That's all splendiferous!! And I cracked up at your religion comment!!
One of the things I do as a pub owner is write a weekly newsletterish - which you might have seen, as I published this week's just hours ago. And in that newsletterish, I share all the previous week's submissions.
So when you publish on HHH, you're likely to get more reads and more followers when people discover that you're here, and you're part of our Pub Family!
Also - the more you read other people's work, highlight, clap and comment, the more they'll read yours. Medium is very much based on reciprocity because it's reads that get us our moolah. If we spend our time and energy helping others earn theirs, they will usually reciprocate and read in return so we can get some of those pennies, too.
And if you aren't aware yet, when it comes to highlighting, clapping (up to 50 times) and commenting, each one jacks up the algorithm and helps that writer. So if you just comment, that's great, but if you also clap, even better. And if you also highlight a time or two (or a bunch), well, now you're a writer's hero.
Medium is best viewed with the 80/20 rule. Eighty percent of your time, read and engage with other writers, and 20 percent, focus on your own writing.
Stats tank when you disappear for a few days and stop reading other people's work. There are so many other people engaging with them, they can forget about us for a while. The more you engage with others, the more followers, reads, and income you will have. It takes time to build momentum here, but if you're consistent and minding the 80/20-ness of it all, AND creating regular, excellent content, you'll do just fine.
We don't know you're here unless you stick your face in our doorways - or rather, our stories - and say hello!
