Yep, they did that when they also took away the referral money. In 2023 they also added boosts and FoM. Supposedly all these financial changes were supposed to result in us getting paid a lot more - which they did for about a year. I had conversations with several people at that time, wondering how Medium thought they could sustain this - it didn't seem possible.

Then as of July this year, suddenly boost nominations were rejected more often than accepted. Even really top quality work - rejected. And around the same time, income and stats tanked.

I think they ran out of money and they aren't telling us. But they sure have plenty for their staff - an obscene amount, and it's all coming from US while we bust our asses for them and get pennies.
