Yes - I have. Never understood people not liking certain yummy foods, hating chocolate, etc. especially kids. But then I became a homeopath. And that opened my eyes to a whole lot more about what makes us different.
Classical homeopathy looks at every detail of a patient's mental, emotional and physical make-up. The "vital force" - our "energy" - in Chinese medicine they call it the "chi" - is expressed through our various likes, dislikes, things that make us feel better or worse, all kinds of details like what position we lie in when sleeping, whether we like cool air blowing on us or hate it. Are we inherently chilly - or hot? What foods do we love, hate, or don't like us even if we love them?
We look at the nature of pain - is it burning, stinging, stitching, throbbing, bursting, pressure, aching - or so many other pain descriptions? Are we better in the morning? At 2-4 pm? 3 am? Warm weather, cold weather, wet weather? And on and on it goes...
I learned very quickly that those quirks of food likes and dislikes are just a part of a person's entire make-up and constitution, and will play a role in helping a homeopath determine the correct remedy - especially when something unusual, like a kid not wanting ice cream :)
