Yes - I know those nightmares - awful. And that's how it felt. It was below zero, no one had their windows open. At 1 pm in a residential area, no clue if anyone was even home. And I'd left the front door wide open (screen door closed), thinking I'd be right back. And it was my friend's house. I was staying with him after just moving back to Calgary a few weeks earlier. He was in Scotland on holiday. If anyone had seen the open door - and the open garage door (I had got the shovel out) - and robbed him or trashed his house, I'd have been in an even worse state.
I was actually more concerned about that while lying there, than I was about myself. I was desperate to get back to the house and make sure it was safe.
As for my sense of humour - yeah, it's got me through a lot - although there were definitely days I wasn't feel it at all through this ordeal! 💜💜💜
