Yes, snow is so beautiful!!! Especially at night with the moon or other light shining on it. It's like zillions of tiny diamonds. The whole world feels so quiet and still, hidden under a thick blanket of fresh snow.

And it's nice to go for a walk in it when it's not too cold - anything down to about -10°C or so is quite tolerable.

But when you start hitting the -20s and below - it gets increasingly brutal - especially if it's windy. Nothing like a strong, biting wind that stings your face and makes your eyes water and it's hard to breathe. It literally takes your breath away when it gets strong.

It's awful. Even with thick coat and boots etc. there are enough parts of the body that still feel it.

It's also not fun to drive on a few inches of ice, topped by a foot or more of snow. And having to dig your car out from under several inches (or more) of snow - it's exhausting.

Then gotta scrape the ice off all the windows of the vehicle. Sometimes it's really sticky and hard to get off the windows till the vehicle warms up so you have to sit there and wait and wait and wait - and then finally you can scrape all the windows so you can see where you're going.

We're used to it - some of us tolerate it better than others. I detest it, and have been able to avoid going out in that stuff for many years so I'm a complete baby now after a lot of moderate winters in England!

I won't stick my nose out the door when it's cold unless I have no choice!

So yeah - I appreciate wanting to experience it because it's different, but I'm betting you would not enjoy it for very long!
